Today, we’re rolling out two major updates that move us beyond static systems to a dynamic, intelligent engine—one that automatically optimizes every prompt for quality and cost.

We designed these changes to ensure Base44 adapts to your needs, handling technical complexity so you can stay focused on creating. Our goal is simple: a smoother workflow with better results in every build.

Here’s how we’re making your work smarter, more accurate, and more efficient.

01. Smarter model selection for better outcomes

To build the best product, you need the engine best suited for the problem at hand. A complex architectural change requires deep reasoning, while a UI tweak requires speed and precision.

Our smart agent has evolved into a strategic partner. It doesn’t just process your request—it understands the intent behind it. By analyzing the complexity of your task, the agent automatically routes your prompt to the model best equipped to deliver the strongest results.

• Higher-fidelity code: By pairing complex logic with models built for deep reasoning, the agent reduces hallucinations and increases accuracy.

You focus on the idea; the agent ensures the execution is optimized for the best possible outcome. As part of this shift, we're removing the option to manually select a model. This keeps the workflow seamless, smarter and fully optimized from end to end.

2. Dynamic credits: an economy that adapts to you

A smarter way to work deserves a smarter way to use your credits. Real efficiency isn’t just about building faster; it’s about using your resources in a way that matches the work being done.

Until now, every message used one credit. With this update, credit usage adjusts to the size and complexity of your request, reflecting the actual work required.

This means that many of your messages will now come in under 1 credit, while more complex ones may use more. This leads to precise edits and greater efficiency, creating a more cost-effective experience overall.

For example:

• Simple tasks (like fixing a sentence or making a small UI tweak) could use 0.5 credits.
• Complex messages (like generating full app logic) might use 1.5 credits.

Discuss Mode continues to cost 0.3 credits per message, and Resolve with AI remains free. You’ll always see the exact credit cost after each run directly in the message menu, so everything stays transparent.
